The Story
A Tudor home, five centuries in the making.
Puddled Duck Cottage has stood at the heart of Tattenhall since around 1500 — a Tudor period dwelling whose timber frame has watched the village grow up around it.

Recently restored under the watchful eye of English Heritage — its timber frame renewed, its original thatched roof reinstated.
Behind the centuries-old façade you'll find a home that feels entirely contemporary. A new central heating system carries warmth through every room. The kitchen has been refitted with shaker cabinetry, marble worktops and brass fittings. The bathroom and shower room have been finished in the language of a small boutique hotel.
The master bedroom opens onto a private outdoor terrace — perfect for a glass of fizz at sunset, or a slow morning coffee with the swallows. Downstairs, the inglenook fireplace remains the room's beating heart.
Whether you're a couple seeking a romantic break, or a small party of four looking for a base from which to explore Cheshire, Puddled Duck Cottage is, simply, a beautiful place to be.
